Dogs Stuff Hawks 34 - 31

It is a long road between this fan's home and South Beloit. Lots of time to think about and recap the evening. The best that comes to mind is "What the hell was that?" Not a game really, more a spectacle, no... more like a debacle. An hour delay to start the game, no refs. I wondered how or why that could happen. Then at the end of the game, when the refs that did step up to make the calls needed a police escort to safely leave the park, perhaps I figured out the answer. This was an evening when I wanted to see the best of the South compete in the game of FOOTBALL, instead, I felt I was at a filming of the show COPS.

The guys in the sweatshirts and jeans were the fill in refs, this is after the game they needed police escorts to exit the field. Is that a coach leading the charge? Seriously someone help me out.

More to come ... comments welcome

I agree, it did seem as though we were in the TV series "COPS." I came to this game with my child for what I thought would be a nice family outing. I was very disturbed and in disbelief the way some of the Hawks team handled themselves. They showed a total lack of respect for EVERYONE who attended that game, and dignity for themselves.
My child has so many questions about the behavior of some of the Hawks team, why the police are here? I am scared Mom. I want to go home. Are they going to hurt someone? I don't ever want to go to this town again! These are just a few of the conversations we have had since last nights game. Trying to console my 9 years olds fear of attending another football game. It will be rest assured that we will never go to another Hawks football game again.
On another note, I have the utmost respect for the West Bend Junkyard Dogs team. They showed real class and dignity through all the "circus qualities" of the game they endured by the Hawks.

To all football fans:

I apologize to any of you who witnessed the events which took place before, during, and after last night's football game between the Stateline Hawks and the West Bend Junkyard Dogs.

I ask that you not judge football based on what you experienced last evening. I am embarrassed that the actions of "adults" would cause anyone to be afraid to attend a football game.

However, after last night, I sure do understand that feeling. I never thought we would need police on both sidelines and police by our team bus to ensure our safety.

Please give football another chance and attend the WSFL Championship in two weeks featuring the Fox Valley Force against the West Bend Junkyard Dogs.

The last game played featuring these two teams was a 35-34 thriller in West Bend last season won by West Bend before a lively crowd. Good sportsmanship prevailed and both teams played their hearts out.

Again, please accept my apologies for the events of last night and tell your 9 year old that is NOT typical of a football game.
